I’ve always been drawn to cubism; for me it is the ultimate form of expression. Ever since seeing my first Picasso, Braque and Matisse I have been fixated with how a subject can be simplified to minimal, essential forms yet produce powerful and provocative images. These vessels embody the conflict between 2 and 3 dimensional art, creating a playful visual conundrum
These vessels are comprised of cut and layered steel. The completed vessels are chemically treated with various finishes, hand rubbed to highlight details and then sealed. Each vessel is narrow enough to sit on a window sill.
