I’ve always felt that world globes possess an exotic quality… the charting of remote places and exotic lands. To me they instill a sense of adventure and the allure of new experiences, new cultures…a setting for charts unknown.

These globe bases were designed to capture this feeling. The steel globe mount© tilts rather than swivels to view the southern hemisphere. The globe is secured in the upright position by tightening an iron knob and a brass key (floor globes) acts as a “stop” for the tilt function. The oak base is hand rubbed to reveal rich cherry hues of wood emerging through a dark exterior coat. Steel and brass components are each treated with custom finishes to complete this piece.
