My clocks are functional pieces but meant to be visual representations of time itself. Worn gears and deep metal patinas symbolize the unrelenting passage of time in its march from genesis to the end of days.  The fixed, unmoving weights signify that human efforts to manipulate time and our inevitable end are pure mortal folly. A continuous sweeping motion of the pendulum reminds us that time is advancing even as we passively observe.
